‘Memoria’ Colombian film wins Jury Prize at Cannes

For the first time a Colombian film obtains this recognition in Cannes, making history this Saturday at the famous Film Festival where it won the Jury Prize.

The film was directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, who in 2017 fell in love with the country and after two years returned to record ‘Memoria’ starring British actress Tilda Swinton.

The production was a beneficiary of the Colombian Film Fund, and it becomes the first Colombian film to receive this recognition, the third most important only after the Grand Prix and the coveted Palme d’Or.

This feature film featured the participation of great actors such as the Colombians Elkin Díaz and Juan Pablo Urrego, the Mexican Daniel Giménez-Cacho and the French Jeanne Balibar, who during this week gave a lot to talk about at the festival
